So to begin with, I have no pictures of myself in either of my outfits. I wore the Inuyasha outfit the first day of Anime North. I was just uncomfortable with everything happening the day. The following day, I wore the Sesshomaru outfit and entered the costume contest (mainly judging on costumes fabrication). I did win an award on my embroidery work. Unfortunately, my armor fell apart later that day.

Inuyasha & Sesshomaru Props
So, for both my outfits, I needed to make some swords and armor.
I bought some cheap plastic swords and deconstructed them. I started working on the hilts first. In the picture above, that's what the handles look like starting out.
Here is the hilt for Sesshomaru's sword Tenseiga. I painted the diamonds shapes white, then wrapped blue ribbon around in a crisscrosses pattern, and finally glue foam around the guard area.
Here is the hilt for Inuyasha's sword Tessaiga. I glued burlap ribbon to the hilt, then painted over it to create a more weathered and age look. I continued the same process only in a crisscross pattern.
For the guards of the swords, I cut out foam for their base.
Then I covered worbla for the gold guard and glue craft foam to the red guard to create a texture look.
Here are the finish swords, Tensaiga on top and Tessaiga on the bottom. I wanted to leave them in the scabbard because their more for looks than function. Unfortunately, I didn't glue the guards to scabbards properly and they fell apart.
Sesshomaru's outfit, has armor covering most of his clothing. after finishing the sewing component of the outfit, I started working on the armor next. For the base of the armor, I decided on craft-foam, for keeping it light.
Next I cut out the craft-foam pieces. Then began adding worbla to said pieces (this will give them a harder surface.)
After the worbla was add, I attach all the chest pieces together and began on the shaping the spikes.
I used tin-foil for base of the spikes and wrapped worbla around it. I never used worbla before and it was a challenge for me to use.
Then gathering all the pieces together, I began painting them, and added on binder ringers, Velcro, and snaps on.
It was impossible to find any tassels never mind red tassels. So, I found some silver tassels and used a marker on them.
This is what all the armor pieces look like all together.
It's not the best picture, but you get the idea. At that point, I was getting ready to work on the belt.
For the belt, I first started sewing up a yellow fabric. Then with the blue fabric, I applied double sided interfacing. Finally I cut out the shapes I want, and applied to the yellow fabric.
After Anime North, I didn't have time to finish Sesshomaru second sword Tokijin. So, I made it for Animartimes. The sword was made from foam, with a wooden dowel for structure.
Here's Tokijin all finish. I feel like I did a pretty good, I mean beside burning my finger off with the hot glue-gun. But yeah, I'm happy with the way it turned out.
Sesshomaru Outfit
For my second outfit, I'll be making Sesshomaru for Anime North.
I handed embroidered the flower design for the top.
After sewing the top of the outfit together, I adding on the embroidery on top of that.
The making of this outfit is similar to the Inuyasha outfit, except for a few minor differences.
In the images above, I cut out part of the shoulder and collar, then sewn in red cotton to matches the embroidery.
On the sleeves, I sewn in red cotton for adding extra length and to match the shoulder.
Just like the Inuyasha outfit, I made an extra collar.
So on Sesshomaru's outfit, there fur attach to his armor. Not sure what it is, some people say it's his tail, others say it's a demon not quiet sure... It's inside in this image above and that's why it appears not as furry compare to the reference picture.
Inuyasha Outfit
For 2016, I decided to make two outfit, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru from the anime Inuyasha. The picture above is of Inuyasha.
For the Inuyasha outfit, it appears that he is wearing a kimono style jacket with an undershirt. Because I'm wearing this at Anime North, the weather is going to be very HOT. So I'm going to be just making the jacket, but make it appear that there's an undershirt. In the picture above, I just made the bodice of the jacket and attached cream coloured fabric to the shoulder where the undershirt would've been showing.
Before I attached the sleeves, I made and sewed on some belt loop to the ends of the sleeves to run a ribbon through. I believe the purpose of this was to tighten the sleeve so they won't flap around.
For this outfit I decided instead of making another pair of hakama pants, to do a hakama style skirt. I stitch lines going down the skirt to create a folded look. The zipper was added to the front with the waistband overlapping. There will be a bow sewn on, right above the zipper.
To help with the illusion of hakama pants, I add patch pocket to the sides of the skirt, to make it resemble the undershirt peaking out from the waistband.
Here is the outfit all together.
You can see the shoulder opening and where the undershirt would be showing. Also the ribbon the sleeves.
I've sewn a loop to the side of the waistband for my prop sword can stay.
I attached an extra band of cloth to the center-back of my collar with a centimeter showing in the back. This creates a fake undershirt collar which can be adjusted in the front.

Upcoming Events
My next big event I'm planning to go to is Anime North. I wasn't going to start making anything till I finish the pants, and now that I have finish them, I will be working on my next big project. I am consider on working on two costumes from the same series, but it's still up in the air. I did in fact finish making a necklace for one of the costumes and thought I might post it.
Hakama Pants
So right after Animaritime, I been working on pair of hakama pants for a client. They are custom made. I took this photo between fittings, and the finish pair look a bit different. The pleats in the front are closer together and the back is more fitted. It was a tough project to do, and I'm glad that me and the client are happy with the results.
Animaritimes 2015
Here are the Avengers pictures, better late or never. A few things that happened that day, we did have more people in our group, but they didn't have time to finish their costumes. Then the remainder of us signed up our costumes individually and perform as a group. That's were things started to go down hill. Do to our level of experience in costuming, I was against Rogue and Captain America was against Thor. Rogue and Cap' both won in costuming. For the performance part, it was a disaster. We didn't have time to practice on stage. The audio worker screwed up our music and was very rude to us when we pointed it out. So we had to wait for new music and we did some poses. It was very embarrassing, especially that there was an audience waiting for us.
Left to Right: Me as Spidey, Laura McFarlane as Rogue, Bronwen Robbins as Captain America, and Jessie Scott-Henderson as Thor.
Through out the day there was a Marvel photoshoot by Spoiler Photography. We were getting ready for our shoot, when we stumble across theirs. Dylan the photographer was surprised that we were there and asked for some shots.
After ours shots for Spoiler Photography, it was time for our booked shoot with Hillary McCormack. We took a lot of shots with her. It took while to get these photos because of the editing and the number of photos.
I had a fun time doing this, I may consider being in another group. I might not want to wear a mask again, especially on a hot day.
